Inpatient Services

Social workers assess and follow members who are hospitalized at both Kaiser Permanente's San Diego Medical Center and Zion hospital, based on referrals  and high-risk screening. They assist and counsel members regarding many issues including those related to severe illness, death and dying, drug and alcohol-related issues, adoption, social needs, financial needs and resources, and ethical dilemmas. These services are available as a benefit to every individual in the hospital. A message can be left for a social worker at: (619) 641-4456.

Family Violence Program

A Continuing Care Services social worker acts as the liaison for the Family Violence Program for Kaiser Permanente physicians, employees and the community. Mandated reports are collected from Kaiser Permanente staff concerning Adult/Elder Abuse, Domestic Violence and Child Abuse, and annual statistics are compiled related to these reports. This liaison acts as a resource by answering questions regarding reporting laws and giving educational presentations about these laws and the reports. Abuse Resources.
